The Rest of the Story
I grew up on Long Island but have spent most of my professional life living in New York City, with a brief stint in Philadelphia and Sydney, Australia. Growing up, my father founded two successful businesses after starting with nothing and putting himself through Pharmacy school. I became fascinated with entrepreneurship at an early age as I watched him build these companies from scratch. After spending four years in business school and two in investment banking, I took a crazy leap of faith to join a technology accelerator, and later a startup as the first employee. As a result, I’ve become extremely passionate about problem solving, mentorship and helping entrepreneurs in the formative years of their companies.
Outside of my professional life, I’m fitness junkie (I’ll try any workout, no matter how crazy) and an avid traveler with a long list of places still left to see. I was most likely a wedding planner in a previous life, and can guarantee I have the worst FOMO out of anyone you’ve ever met. I currently live in New York City with my husband, who I met on one of the very first dating startups – and am now finally proud to admit it.
Stuff You Wouldn't Know
First job: While I set up a small bartering business amongst my friends for Beanie Babies and Pogs at the age of 6, my first real job was as a lifeguard at summer camp. It was extremely rewarding to teach young children how to swim, and be certified to save the lives of others.
Most humbling life experience: Boating through the floating villages in Cambodia, just outside of Siem Reap. It was both breathtaking and eye opening to see an entire village operate successfully in the middle of nowhere. The best part was watching them live in complete bliss without any materialistic objects – just a house on stilts and each other.
Random facts: I hate chocolate, yet my favorite movie is Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. I also once bungeed off one of the highest bungee jumps in the world in Queenstown, New Zealand. This was the most exhilarating moment of my entire life… I will never do it again.
