Office space search tool TheSquareFoot raises $2M

New York-area startups and venture capitalists are making funding deals with the hopes of creating the next profitable company. Here's one deal announced Wednesday:

Who gets: TheSquareFoot, a web and mobile search tool for commercial office space packaged with broker services, aimed strictly at tenants. A publicist says it's "kind of like an Urban Compass for commercial space."

Amount raised: $2 million seed round.
